Fun nights

This is about 2 minutes after the absolute worst rain storm I've ever experienced

You never know whose gunna getcha!

Julia and I got to have a semi picknic lunch!

We also got to go to a Mardi gras ball! The boys that attended had an application and interview process to be selected to come! It was a very middle school like dance but we still had a blast! All the girls got dressed up all fancy and we were escorted in old time cars and a trolley with police in either end of our train of cars! We are literally like royalty! :))

This is our slap happiness after a long tiring day!

P.s. Y'all should know that John is my new 7 year old best friend :)

What has come and what has to come

So this week I have been in Mobile, Alabama! I am competing in the national distinguished young women finals! I am having the time of my life and meeting so many amazing girls! (49 to be exact) :) they have us jam packed every day with community events, outings, and rehearsals!

Some of the things we have been doing include:

- openin ceremonies on the day we arrived in Mobile. Finals are such a huge deal here we get treated like celebrities! It is equivalent to the CWS in Omaha.

This is me and my two roommates
Cassidy from Maine, and Peryn from Mississippi

We met the governor and were escorted and announced by state

While here we stay with host families and this is my little brother John and little sister Julia

- we had a breakfast and tour of Bellingrath Gardens

- learned country line dancing at the Battleship. We also got a tour of the battleship!

- we went to camp grace to swim at the waterfront, have team building activities and go on the ropes course!

- had a sick hop with the Girl Scouts!!

- ate the best sea food in town at Bluegill!

What still awaits

Tomorrow morning I will be leaving to go to Mobile, Alabama! I will be there for two weeks- the first week consisting of mostly community service, and the second week will be the national competition for Distinguished Young Women! I am so excited and cannot wait to see what's in store! After that I will be departing form Mobile and flying to Uganda! This will be 3 and a half weeks in Africa for mission work with Show Mercy International! I can't wait to share with all of you the exciting adventures I come! Wish me luck!!

Summer fun

As you all know, my love of kids basically controls my life... In the best way :) for one of my summer jobs I get to nanny the best kids! Sophie(5), Joe(7), and Ana(11). My friend Maura and I do half days with them and try to come up with creative fun things to do so the days aren't so long.

Our first of many adventures was taking them to the zoo!

We also took them to Fremont lakes and spent the day just having a great time!
Fishin
Flyin kites
And hangin out in the water!

We spent one rainy day making a fort complete with it's own flag

In the midst of babysitting my friends and I have made some memorable moments :)
Star gazing

And a sleepover on the trampoline!
P.s. I learned how to do a back flip!!!

And the lost memorable... Getting my ears double pierced! But shhhhh.. Don't tell mom ;)

One of my friends birthday! We all got dolled up and went for a night out downtown!

And best of all... Rascal Flatts concert!!! It was sooooo much fun!

If you aren't a fan you should become one because you'd be hard pressed to find such great music that leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside!
